Booking a treatment, in four steps.

Névé is an aesthetic clinic in Tel Aviv. Clients booked by phone and WhatsApp, rarely knew which treatment to ask for, and saw the price only at the end. We designed an app that answers those three things before anyone has to call.

01

The problem

Booking depended on the phone line being free. Outside clinic hours, it did not happen at all.

  1. Booking by phone and WhatsAppEvery appointment went through the front desk. Evening messages waited for the morning.
  2. Unsure what to ask forSeven treatments with clinical names. New clients asked the desk to explain each one.
  3. Price at the endThe deposit and the balance were explained on the call, after the time was held.
  4. Plans kept on paperMulti-session courses were tracked by the desk. Clients did not know what came next.

The brief

A client should be able to choose a treatment, see its full price, and book a time without talking to anyone. The studio should see the booking the moment it is made.

What we learned

A

People choose a result, not a procedure

Clients described what they wanted to change: texture, lines, pigmentation. The treatment names came second.

So each treatment shows duration and price in the list, and a consultation is always the first option.

B

Price uncertainty stops the booking

In the messages, the most common first question was about cost. Many threads ended there.

So the price is on every row, and the deposit is shown before the confirm button, not after it.

C

Most bookings happen in the evening

Messages peaked after 21:00, when the desk was closed.

So a booking needs no human step, and the studio console receives it live.

D

Courses are where clients get lost

People on a five-session course could not say which session was next or when.

So the plan is its own tab, with each step, its date, and a button to book the next one.

03

User flows

The booking before and after. Before, a booking needed the client and the desk to be available at the same time. After, it needs the client only.

Home answers “what’s next”

The wireframe led with promotions. Testing moved the next appointment to the top, with the time set large, and put the plan second.

Usability findings

Two rounds of moderated tests on the prototype, eight participants each, with the same task: book a microneedling session for next week.

F1High severity

Times below the fold were missed

Days were a vertical list. After choosing a day, three of eight participants did not scroll to see the times and thought the day was full.

Change Days became a horizontal strip, so the times appear on the same screen.

After

F2High severity

The deposit came as a surprise

The first review screen showed the treatment price only. The deposit appeared in the payment sheet, and two participants backed out there.

Change The review lists price, balance and the deposit due now, and the button repeats the amount.

Before
After

F3Medium severity

Choosing a practitioner felt like a test

Participants did not know how to choose between names. Some picked the first one; some left to ask.

Change Each name shows a role and the next free time. When only one person offers a treatment, the step is skipped.

06

The component set

A small set of components carries the whole app. White, greys and black; one radius family; the time and the price are always the largest text on screen.

What we measure after launch

  • Share of bookings made in the app rather than by phone
  • Bookings started and completed, by step
  • Time from opening the app to a confirmed booking
  • No-shows, before and after reminders
